Dr. Qian will briefly review the work they did in past 15 years on China aerosol-climate interaction based on observational data analysis and global/regional/cloud resolving scales modeling.
The topics would include: (1) observational evidences of aerosol affecting solar radiation, sunshine duration, visibility, cloud fraction, wind speed and precipitation properties; (2) modeling of aerosol effects on cloud and precipitation based on WRF regional model and cloud resolving model; (3) modeling of snow and ice impurities (polluted by aerosol) on the Asian monsoon climate and hydrological cycle. I will also give an overview on the current frontiers and future direction in aerosol-climate study.
