From June 27 to 28, 2012, the 2nd joint Working Meeting of CCICED Special Policy Study on the Bohai Oil Spill as a Case for China’s Marine Environmental Management Mechanism was successfully held in Beijing. The conference was funded by the secretariat of CCICED and sponsored by BNU. It had two sections, including Preparation Meeting on the afternoon of June 27^th and Progress Report  Meeting on June 28^th.

The experts and leaders agreed that under the guidance of CCICED as well as with the joint efforts of Chinese and foreign experts, the research will be completed successfully, finally proposing suggestions and measures of improving China’s marine environment emergency management and routine management. This will promote positive interaction of ocean development and environmental protection in China, and insist on the strategy of sustainable development and further strengthen the integrated management of the marine environment in China.

The successful holding of the meeting has indicated that the research has entered into conclusion phase. As the organizer, BNU will continue to work closely with competent organizations, make breakthroughs, and laid a solid foundation for the expected achievements.
