Research Fellow Glenn Wilson and Ronald Bingner from National Sedimentation Laboratory of ARS of USDA came for an academic visit and delivered reports

At the invitation of Professor Liu Baoyuan, Glenn Wilson and Ronald Bingner, two research fellows of National Sedimentation Laboratory of ARS of USDA came to ESPRE for an academic visit and delivered reports respectively on “The Role of Seepage and Preferential Flow on Streambank and Ephemeral Gully Erosion” and “Evaluation of Water Quality and Gully Erosion Control Practices Using USDA-AGNPS Watershed Modeling Technology” respectively in the morning of Apr. 11th 2012. More than 40 faculties and students from ESPRE, ADREM, and School of Geography attended the report.
After the presentation, the two research fellows had discussion with Professor Liu Baoyuan, Associate Professor Fu Suhua and some students. The focus of the discussion is the bilateral cooperation project, including the soil seepage monitoring of Hebei River Basin of Hei Longjiang Province, runoff sediment monitoring at small river basin, monitoring of land ridge on sediment accumulation, and check dam at dissected valley.
