At the invitation of Professor Zhou Tao, Dr. Zhao Maosheng, Senior Research Fellow of University of Montana - Missoula, came to ESPRE for an academic visit and delivered a report on Nov. 23rd. Dr. Zhao’s focus is on using remote sensing data to monitor how regional and global land-based ecosystem impact climate change and human activity. His latest paper published in Science, “Drought-Induced Reduction in Global Terrestrial Net Primary Production from 2000 through 2009” raises widespread attention of scholars. More than 60 faculties and students from ESPRE, College of Resources and Technology, ADREM and College of Life Science attended the event and had heated discussion.
