Invited by Professor Wu Jianjun, Professor Mike Hayes from NDMC and Professor Tang Zhenghong from University of Nebraska-Lincoln visited ADREM and conducted in-depth exchange on drought disaster research. BNU appointed Mike Hayes as Guest Professor and awards the appointment letter. The two parties signed MOU of Drought Research Collaboration Proposed Action Plan between NDMC and ADREM.

On June 6, 2011, Professor Mike Hayes and Tang Zhenghong respectively delivered reports titled “U. S. National Drought Mitigation Center and Drought Research Frontiers” and “Lessons Learned from the U.S. Disaster-Resilient Cities” in BNU. The report meeting, hosted by Professor Liu Lianyou, attracted over 60 listeners from BNU, National Disaster Reduction Center of China as well as China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research.
