ESPRE teachers won Research Excellence Award for Universities in 2009

With the review and appraisal by the Rewarding Commission, and approval by Ministry of Education and the public notice on the website of Science and Technology Development Center under Ministry of education, the result of Research Excellence Award for Universities was announced on January 25, 2010, 301 prizes including 119 first prizes and 182 second prizes was officially conferred. The project of “the Mechanisms of Biodiversity Maintenance and Biodiversity-Ecosystem Functioning Relationshipn” led by Professor Zhang Dayong of ESPRE and the project of “Land Use/Cover Change and Its Impact on Ecosystem” led by Professor Shi Peijun won the first and second nature and science award respectively. Research Excellence Award for Universities (Science and Technology Category) includes Nature and Science Award, Technology and Invention Award, Scientific Improvement Award (promotional type) and Patent Award. Nature and Science Award is to reward the discovery in the natural and scientific basic research and application of basic research and the research result illustrating natural phenomenon, features and laws. Evaluated once a year, Research Excellence Award for Universities (Science and Technology Category) is targeted to all the universities and colleges in China.
