On September 22nd, 2009, Dr. Hu Xiaobing, researcher of University of Warwick, GB, visits the Integrated Risk Management Institute of ESPRE Lab for academic exchange.
Associate Professor Wang Ming first introduces general information of scientific researches and teaching staff of the institute. Dr. Hu then provides detailed introduction to his key scientific achievements during his study and postdoctoral period in Great Britain. Dr. Hu’s researches mainly focus on improvement of genetic algorithm, and exploration of theory and application of ripples algorithm. For hot topics of integrated risk governance such as models and modeling methods, disaster chain, disaster emergency response and others, both sides discuss on how to use new algorithm and control theory to research on risk quantization and risk management, and reach an agreement on cooperative research of risk modeling by using ripples algorithm.
Teachers from the institute including Yu Deyong, Zhang Chao and Xuwei, and some graduate students also attend the exchange meeting.
