ESPRE, ECND and ADREM organized the 1^st Expert Consultation Meeting of Disaster Prevention and Reduction Engineering and Protective Engineering (Safety Science and Engineering). Well-known experts on civil engineering, safety science and engineering and economics from Tsinghua University, Beijing University of Technology, China Academy of Building Research, Beijing Jiaotong University, Beijing Academy of Science and Technology, Kentucky University and BNU were invited to discuss how to develop disaster reduction and protection engineering (safety science and engineering). Professor Shi Peijun, Executive Vice President of BNU, attended the Meeting. Professor Wang Ming, Head of the expert panel on curricular development, chaired the Meeting and presented curricular development in the past 5 years. Experts acknowledged the achievement of the curriculum and offered constructive opinions and suggestions on identifying the advantage, orientation and position, providing guidance for BNU’s curricular development and education on Disaster Prevention and Reduction Engineering and Protective Engineering (safety science and engineering).
