Earth System Research Team Went to Taiwan for the 2013 Cross-strait Youth Workshop on Atmosphere Science

Hosted by the Dept. of Atmosphere Science of National Taiwan University, and jointly organized by Institute of Atmospheric Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Dept. of Atmospheric Sciences of National Central University, Dept. of Atmospheric Sciences of Chinese Culture University and Research Center for Environmental Change of Academia Sinica, the 2013 Cross-strait Youth Workshop on Atmosphere Science was held from Oct. 14-16 at the GIS NTU Convention Center in Chinese Taipei. Prof. Dong Wenjie, Deputy Director of ESPRE (Earth System Research Team) and Dr. Shi Wen from Zhuhai campus of BNU were invited to the meeting. 

29 professors and students from 10 higher institutes and research agencies of China mainland and 31 professors and students from Chinese Taiwan attended the meeting. Prestigious academicians from China mainland include Academician Huang Ronghui of IAP/CAS and Academician Shi Yaolin of University of Chinese Academy of Sciences; well-known researchers from Taiwan include Liu Guangying and Wang Baoguan. The meeting has one plenary session and three parallel sessions. Prof. Dong made a keynote speech in the plenary session titled “Historical Responsibility and Emission Reduction Obligation of Developed Countries and Developing countries” and also chaired the parallel session on climate research.
